414. Sunday Book Discussion: Reread ...

Nov 21, 2010 19:50

I'm a bit late for my weekly Sunday Book Discussion (it's already Sunday 7.45 P.M.). You see, I had a project to do today: moderating two focus group discussions, even if it was Sunday. I went out from 6.30 A.M. and just arrived home around 6 P.M. (borrowed my Dad's car to drive to the research agency's office). I don't usually associate Sunday with work. If I still have a fixed working schedule, I probably most definitely refuse any request to work on Sunday. BUT, I don't really have office now. So even if I work today, I will have Tuesday and Wednesday free. So I thought, why not, right?

The funny thing was ... this job was commissioned by my old company; the first company where I got my first job EVER after graduating from university. I met with my old boss and his wife. It was pretty weird, to be honest, because I left that company 4.5 years ago and didn't really thought that I would be working with them again since the reason I left was moving to their competitor.

Okay, so on to my Sunday Book Discussion Topic ...
How often do you reread books? And do you actually reread them thoroughly, from front and back, or just chapters/passage you like?

As for me, I don't really do re-read thoroughly. Sure, sometimes I pick up books I like to reread chapters/passage that I love, but NEVER really re-read them from the start to the end. I just think that I have so many new books to read, I don't really have time to reread books. I also feel like I already know the story so I don't need to experience it again. It's different with movies or TV shows -- I can rewatch those more than one time. But not books. I guess I am more of a visual person rather than literal -- so I prefer to re-experience something visually rather than written.

Comment away, please
