331. Book Discussion: Peek-A-Boo ...

Ready for another book discussion, flist?

Do you take a peek at the end chapter(s)/page(s) of a book?

I DO. Yes, I'm a peeker :). It didn't start that way. I used to refuse to take a peek. My sister did that and I scolded her. Then, over the years, I started to lose patience when reading a book, and I wanted to know how it ended -- so if it didn't look like it was worth it, I'd better put it down and picked up a different title. Especially since I have so many titles waiting around. So now, I ALWAYS take a peek of the end -- though with crime/murder mystery, I usually wait until I have enough information about the murder/suspects and make a guess on who murderer is. I know, I know, my bad *head desk*

How about you? Comment away!

I finished Ilona Andrews "Magic Bites" and I really like it (I gave it 4/5 stars at Goodreads). Maybe it helps that I am in an UF mood and have read several UF books with different settings prior to this. BUT I have no issue what-so-ever with the writing, I find it direct to the point with sufficient background for me to understand what is going on. I love Kate (especially her dry sense of humor), Curran (I'm in lust with the Beast Lord!), and Derek (I think he helps Kate to opens herself a bit, since she is in charge of him for awhile, and I see Derek as her younger brother *grin*). Will definitely check the next book after I finish with another UF that I just start.

By the way, I am contemplating whether I should read Richard Castle's "Naked Heat"

The thing is, I read the first book (because I absolutely love the TV show) -- and I didn't like it. I thought the writing was amateurish. If it isn't related to the TV show, I might sworn off whomever the ghostwriter for the book FOREVER.
