Steven Erikson, Or: 2 Canucks in SF Today
This afternoon we ended up back at Borderlands for another book signing. This time it was Steven Erikson. The husband really loves his work so I went along for the ride. Us Canadians have to stick together! Or, I just tagged along for lunch (which was good). The husband brought one of his UK editions to be signed, he has most of the others already signed so this really helped the set. You are looking at a pretty damn pricey book there.
He read from his new book (which we also got signed) and he’s a very interesting fellow. Very smart and educated and there were a lot of questions around his character and story development. He really writes with intent and every word is thought out. I haven’t read any of his work honestly and I might not. It is pretty long and some of it quite dark. The excerpt he read was quite dark as well and it would probably take me ages to chew through it to get the most out of his work. Doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate his work.
