Viva Las Vegas

I got back Monday afternoon from Las Vegas, I went out and tagged along with Dave and co-workers who were there for a conference. The conference itself was at Caesar's Palace and later in the week, some sketchy old hotel further down the road, but we stayed at the Bellagio.

It was a very nice hotel, totally spotless, but the service was terrible. I literally saw a woman wiping down individual leaves on a fern in the hallway! Who is this woman and can she come to my house? But getting anything else was like pulling teeth. I mean, I would order an iced tea at the pool and 10-15 minutes later, it would show up. And it would cost $4. Did I mention the sunscreen I bought that was $24?!? I did take it back when I found that Dave had some in his bag... the ladies at the shop where I returned it made me give my name and address. How dare I return their overpriced sunscreen!

Anyway, it was cool to get to Vegas since I'd never been there. Jerry Seinfeld was performing, which he only does 4 nights a year, so we got to see him. Of course he was hilarious. We also saw a newish Cirque de Soleil show, Le Reve, which combined acrobatics, water, fire, a little nudity, and some other bizarre stuff... but it was also a really good show. I got to walk around a little and see some other casinos like the Aladdin, Bally's, Paris, the Luxor, Treasure Island, the Mirage, the Wynn, and Mandalay Bay.

I didn't really gamble, and no, I didn't get married. I did see a LOT of brides, though. Where else can you go to the pool and see 2 different wedding parties posing on the staircase nearby?

I'm still trying to get back on East Coast time... I slept until 11 yesterday and didn't go to sleep until 2 AM... and went out on a Taco Bell run at 11 PM. Who would have thought that the Spicy Chicken Crunchwrap Supreme would be so cheap and delicious?

Here's a picture of the group after seeing Le Reve:
