So tonight I brought the paper(s) in (OK, there were ONLY three) and found a lovely surprise: a sample of some new Lipton tomato with crouton soup. I looked at it and saw that the directions required adding "really hot water(but you probably knew that)" and dumping the hot water over the contents of the envelope. The directions had a smart-ass comment! How could I not try it?

So I boiled some water, and lo and behold, it was very tasty! More like a brothy tomato soup, but the croutons were crunchy!!! Even after staying in the soup a while!! What excitement!!

The hell that has been me being the box office for advance ticket sales for my Reston Chorale concert coming up Friday is nearly over. We have sold nearly 400 seats, out of a house of 800-1000 (no one has accurately told me, although I do have a seating chart so I could figure it out). The committee for this concert, which has a budget of $72,000, decided to make the 72 box seats at the venue available on a first-come, first-served basis, which is all well and good until the moment you get a paid order for a box seat and there aren't any left. Whoopsie. So you have to put the person's tickets in will call along with a refund. Which doesn't seem that bad... if I had to be told the tickets I wanted weren't there, at least getting some money back would make it better.

Today at school Alyssa brought me Subway, because I just could not bear to eat a nasty cheeseburger with mixed vegetables or popcorn chicken, which are neither juicy nor crunchy, and which I ate once when I wasn't feeling well, so now they will never be tasty to me. I seem to be developing an aversion to school lunches, which I have eaten for the past 4 years with relative ease.

After that, DeeAnn Lewis, the Drug Lady (tm) came to talk to the whole fourth grade (!) about drugs, alcohol, and tobacco for (count 'em) 110 minutes!! During which time we could leave the room and go do whatever!! I actually went to the bathroom and graded about 7 sets of papers. Very exciting. I enjoyed the video about the Drug Monster, although I have seen it before.

That is all from my exciting life. Also I have been practicing "Laudate Pueri Dominum" by the lesser Haydn brother, Michael. He's kind of the Germanine Jackson of the Handel family. Seriously, it is a hella hard piece, although I am probably playing it too fast and making it harder. I have been using my new metronome, and playing at the right tempo, although when I get with Kristina, the director of the Manassas Park high school choir, she may take it slower. Or I may threaten to back out if she doesn't take it slower. If anyone asks you to play this song, beware!! It is very hard. I have practiced about 5 hours on it. It is 32 pages long. I just got it last Thursday.

Luckily, Margie's music is much easier. And I am taking Friday off to go accompany her 2 choirs for the same event. In between I have my Reston Chorale concert.

Time for dinner. I feel like an Uncle Ben's rice bowl.
