Have returned from CTCon '07. I am also thorougly exhausted, but I wanted to get my pictures up before I totally konk out for who-knows-how-long.
Ended up somehow - I don't even know how - piecing together enough to constitute a half-assed Scheris (from s-CRY-ed) cosplay, which you'll see in my photos. Had to bail out of the cosplay contest because I couldn't bear to present myself for judging in a 48-hour crap costume, but whatever. Dearest sibling returned for another year as the Con Banana, leaving chants of "peanut butter jelly time!" and "bananaphone!" in her wake.
I caught up with a bunch of acquaintances from last year, more than a few old friends (hi all you guys!),and made some new ones. Much love to all the artists, who I will speak about more later, when I am awake, and comissioned a large quantity of Arra portraits by various illustrating-types. Managed to come back with only two posters, both from Trinity Blood (P.S. Abel cosplayer, I love you!), three books in which C.J. Henderson was involved/wrote, volume two of Dominic Deegan, some candy, and a veritable ton of art. I actually left the con with more than one bill left in my wallet. ZOMG. That's a first for me.
On the cosplay scene, the con was filled with the usual repertoire of Naruto and Bleach cosplayers, who naturally got into a war with each other over... something or other... and paraded down the halls in lines chanting. There seemed to be about twenty different Death Note people, mostly in the form of Light and L, who Arbol had to hug every five minutes. Also, I swear there are more Star Wars people every year, which I definitely don't mind, because they all do a great job with their costumes. *grins* I also found not just one, but TWO Kazumas, which amazed me greatly because I haven't seen a s-CRY-ed cosplayer there since CTCon '03. One of these days, I swear I'm going to try and stage mass s-CRY-ed cosplay just for kicks. Anyone interested? XD
Anyway, con photos. I returned with 141 of them in total, and now they should all be upoaded. For those interested in viewing, I offer the following options:
Sendspace - .zip file, 141 photos, raw/uncleaned, ~18 MB
Photobucket Album - .jpeg files, 141 photos, raw/uncleaned, no single photo more than 1MB. Photos are in approximate chronologically descending order.
On to other things for now, but I'll come back within 48 hours (probably long before that) to show you all my lovely gallery of commissioned Arra illustrations. :) They mke me hapy and fuzzy inside. :P
Also, someone please remind me later to upload my midnight ramble-story about a frog in my pond. Been meaning to do that for days.
