This weekend was Pilson Rock, this big rock festival/concert in Durazno, a very small town in the middle of Uruguay. A bunch of friends got together and we hired a van and a driver to take us there and back since the bus system and trains are completely clogged with over 100,000 people trying to squeeze into this pinhole of a town.
It was a ridiculous weekend, I've never seen anything like it. People everywhere you look. Thousands and thousands of people overran this tiny town. There was a tent city for miles all around the park where the concert was. There were bathrooms, but you'd have to wait for hours, so I spent the weekend peeing in the woods. At night I slept in a plaza, but don't worry, I was accompanied by about a thousand other people awake or asleep at all hours of the day and night. For two solid days the only food I had was hot dogs, and milanesas (thin pieces of meet fried) that local families sold out of their houses or on the street. And all I drank was beer and homemade wine that I bought from this really nice lady and here three children who lived in Durazno.
The music was good. I admit that I didn't pay attention to all the bands, but I occasionally pushed my way into the semi-mosh-pit to get a good look. I really liked "No te va gustar" which was obviously a really popular one, and I bought a t-shirt of theirs. Their show was pretty awesome.
I traveled with a very mixed group. Uruguayans, germans, dutch, korean, american, columbian. We were quite obviously the only foreigners at the concert. I kept on getting shouted at "rubia, rubia!" blondie...because it was obvious I wasn't Uruguayan with this hair. Sometimes it was fun when random cool people wanted to talk to me because of my foreignness, but usually it was sketchy because wierd homeless men would try to touch me and kiss me. Not so much.

Now I'm most definately coming down with a cold...but it was worth it. It just prooves that I partied hard. There was a group of three girls who came with us in the van. After about two hours of being at the concert they decided that it wasn't their scene and left...back to Montevideo. I mean, come on...after two hours how can you know if a two day event is cool or not? So you take a four hour ride back to the city? Very not hard core.

In conclusion, yesterday I slept a lot, and I intend on detoxing this week in a major way.
