News...
Lately I have become obsessed with the news. I always read the news, more out of duty than pure interest, but lately, I just can't get enough. I download podcasts, spend hours reading stuff online, stalk the bbc and even watch some Uruguayan tv news...but I get really bored quickly, so usually not. No idea what has suddenly spawned this sudden news need. One thing though, if I didn't keep up with the news I would have no idea what was going on in the world as my host family and friends around here (with the exception of some people in my diplomatic and consular law class) have no idea what is going on outside of Pocitos (wealthy Montevideo neighbourhood).
I'm worried that I'm coming down with something. I have that pre-sickness itch in my throat that's never a good sign. Slightly worried since tomorrow I'm going to Pilson Rock. It's basically this hippy music festival in the center of the country. Uruguay's answer to Woodstock. Or something. I don't really recognize any of the bands, since most are Uruguayan or Argentine, but it should be a crazy fun weekend. As long as this cold allows...
