OK, this is my story for Multiverse! The deadline for that is still a fair ways off, but I'm leaving on vacation in a few days, and since this is probably the last day I'll have a good block of free time to work on it, I'm polishing it up and calling it done. Not that it probably couldn't have used a little more time, really, but oh, well.

Wow. You have an amazing ear for voices. You've got not only Crichton but River here, and narrating from River's perspective can't be easy!

Thanks! I made a point of re-watching a couple of River-heavy episodes to try to get her voice down. And, as I may have mentioned, writing from her POV turns out to be easy enough to be slightly scary for me. :) None of which means I was necessarily confident that I'd gotten her right, so I'm glad if she works for you.

They both ring perfectly true and truly imperfect, a match made in induced insanity. :D I like this story, and I like that Moya is the anchor, warm and alive and big, for them both.

Thanks! One of the things I love about Multiverse is that it makes me make connections between characters it would otherwise never have occurred to me have things in common. :)

Yes, I can see Stark might be useful practice, but this is a brilliant take on River and what she perceives in this particular 'verse. And having her see Harvey is inspired.

Aargh, thanks for pointing out the typos. You can tell I had to finish this one up in a hurry, can't you? Fixing!

I actually had to put in a little bit of effort not to make my River sound too much like my Stark, because they are very different people, even if they've both been damaged in ways that have a certain amount of similarity.

Oh yes, she sounds quite different! But it must be useful to have experience of writing deranged and perceptive.
