Rockin' The Commentaries

Man, lately I am feeling pretty stressy, and I'm sleeping badly and having to keep myself awake at bizarre hours. These Pretender commentaries are really helping me keep my brain together. So I watched the one for S2's "Red Rock Jarod" too:

Huh, maybe they meant that ep in particular? Because I definitely get the impression I'm not going to get real answers.

I sorta just think they're a teeny bit deluded. :)

Yeah, they meant in general. I think they are, as RSR says, a teensy bit deluded. :) Actually, they often did mention things and then come back to them later, or raise questions and then at least address them later, whether they were fully answered or not. (And, um, well, a few things big will be answered, if that helps any. :)) But as far as everything fitting together in a neat, tidy way that's not a confusing mass of gaps and apparent contradictions? Um... not so much. The Pretender is sort of like a jigsaw, but some of the pieces are forced into odd places, and some of them appear to come from different puzzles entirely.

They did say something else on one of the "making of" thingies that I think sheds a lot of light on this. Apparently they'd never tell the writers of a given episode what the big picture was. Writers would come to them and ask questions: "What does this mean? What's going on here?" And they'd say, "Eh, you don't need to know this stuff. Just go write the episode!" Possibly that explains a lot. :)

That must have been frustrating for them. Ah well, as long as I get some answers.

Mind you, some of the answers are completely insane. ;)

Somehow this really doesn't surprise me.
