The Storm before the Calm?

I can't believe how intense the last couple weeks have been. We've been living with my parents, now that the house is finally totally empty. The house still hasn't officially sold yet. The buyer's agents have been dragging their feet and it's been crazy.

My wife ended up in the hospital last Thursday until Tuesday night with severe asthma and a mutated flu virus. So, between worrying about the house and worrying about her, my plate was full, right? WRONG. My kids decided that they'd go ahead and get ear infections too... and I came down with a head cold or flu or something too. Did it get worse? YEAH.

The people who were selling us the house in Owasso are tired of waiting on us to close on our existing place because they have a backup offer (somebody who obviously swooped in to get an awesome deal, like we are trying for). They gave us an ultimatem... close by Friday or back out. Well, without my house being closed on yet, my lender told me that I could still try to get the loan for the other house. He said that the first payment wouldn't be til April and it's possible by then I'd get my other house sold. So, not wanting to lose out on 10% equity in the new house, I've got my lender trying to push it through the system. It's been crazy and I don't like waiting. I just want to know... YES I can get it or NO I can't.

We also put our house back up for sale, just in case these ass holes don't get the closing done, maybe we can have a backup offer in hand when that happens. Who knows? My realtor tells me that the house should sell much quicker now that it is empty. Here's hoping.

So, my timetable is this. It's Thursday afternoon. I'm waiting to hear back. If I get approved, I'll be owning two houses tomorrow. I'm pretty sure this is a stupid thing to do... but at the same time, if the gamble goes good, it will have been a great decision. As a backup plan, my wife is suppose to go look for a job so that we will have extra income to help cover the additional house payment if it's needed.

I'm just ready to have all this shit done. I want to move into my new house, get it setup, and get on a plane back to California on Monday. I also want my freakin house to sell in Tulsa. These people have taken enough of my time... the bastards.
