ficlet rec (SGA). Also, dubbing is evil (imho, ymmv...)

Holy shit. I just stumbled over a streaming version of an SGA episode... in German. When my friend linked me to that streaming site, I didn't expect the stuff to be dubbed. Two words: brain bleach. I really can't tell whose synchronisation is worse: Sheppard's, Rodney's, or Ronon's. (I hit the back button before I could find out what they've done to Teyla's lovely voice.) So bad. So very very bad. (don't know if this works, but, link)

No, I think Rodney's is the worst. I love to hear David Hewlett's voice. I mean, rrrawr! German television execs, you're philistines.

Bad.

Even made me break radio silence so I could share my pain - the plan was to finish this one work stage first. I finally found my work groove again, I'm happy to report. It took several rather frustrating weeks of shuffling blank pages and not knowing where to start. The past two weeks I got a lot of work done... I have to sketch four more pages, then I can take a little break. I'm still on my first Big Bang fic, which is really excellent but by the time I go to bed I'm too tired to read more than a few pages.

quicky rec: penknife has been writing more SGA ficlets. Every one of them is worth checking out, but this one's a fave of mine:
Roadside Service
Summary: This ficlet brought to you by How Penknife Spent Her Evening, or Why Penknife Is A Big Giant Dork. SGA, John, Rodney, and Sam gen, post-series.

(My new monitor arrived (wide screen, yayz) so I switched back to my old computer until the new one gets here (still stuck on some cargo ship) and all my recent bookmarks with stuff to-rec are still on the laptop. Also, the sound connection from computer to stereo stopped working properly (wtf?) for no discernable logical reason (seriously, wtf) but I decided to deal with that problem when the new computer gets here. Maybe it's one of those problems that you can just sit out and it'll go away on its own.)
