Day 25....I need more icons
Day 25 - Music - Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?
Muuuuusic. Ah music. I love music. I rarely, RARELY write without some sort of music on on the background. I need proper background noise even if it IS just background noise. If things get to quiet, then i start hearing other things I wouldn't normally and I get distracted. Music helps me tune out a lot of things, even if it is just quiet music.
i don't particularly look to music to get in a mood for writing. Generally, I set my music to fit the mood I'm in when I make the decision to sit down and write. If I am already in super distracted mode, I'll put on something ambient or classical so I don't start paying attention to the music (but light classical so as not to be distracted emotionally). If I'm tired but want to get a bit done, I'll put on faster music to keep me pepped up. Aside of that, I just kinda put on whatever I feel like listening to.
If i'm writing a scene with a lot of emotion, i sometimes will put on music that would fit that, but I don't usually since I don't have a series of emotion play lists just ready made.
I also try to avoid newer pieces of music that I've just attained since I'll start paying attention to them instead of what I'm doing.
