It’s official: My 2014 spec fiction novel will be titled The Devil Lancer!

I know it’s a year away. Not only is it a year away, but I have other books that will be coming out this year ahead of this one.

But I’m really excited about my upcoming novel from Blind Eye Books, which now officially has a title: The Devil Lancer. It’s a book that took me a year and a half to write (hence the lack of titles of late) , required a ton of research, and is one I’m particularly excited about, because it’s being published by Blind Eye Books.

If you’ve ever picked up one of their paperbacks, you know what I’m talking about. The quality of their publications is undeniable. From the artwork to the typesetting to the paper choice, they make beautiful, beautiful books, and I can’t wait to see what Blind Eye Book artist Dawn Kimberling comes up with for this title! To give you a taste, she sent me this initial illustration the other day, which will likely be part of the cover:

Artwork by Dawn Kimberling of Blind Eye Books.

Oooh! I love it so much! This is a drawing of Sergeant Ilyas Kovakin of the 17th Lancers. He’s one of our two main protagonists and I think she did a fantastic job capturing the story and his character in a single illustration.

In any case, I just had to share with you the pretty eye candy.

Yay! Okay. Back to book deadlines for 2013.

Happy reading!
