OMG squee artwork and my dirty, dirty new novel!
I just got a small picture illustrated by Dawn Kimberling for my upcoming release from Blind Eye Books, the as yet still unnamed “cavalry story” set during the Crimean War, and all I can say is *squeeeee*! I can’t wait to see the cover. She is such a talented artist and I’m super super excited! I’ll check in and see if I have permission to post its amazing hotness. **EDIT 6/10/13: I got permission, and it’s up here.**

Uh, so this novel Demolished. I’m almost done with it, and about to submit it to Loose Id. It’s a contemporary romance. But the thing is… somehow… it’s very naughty. I mean, yeah. I wanted it to have sex scenes. It is Loose Id after all. But man. The opening scene makes me blush. I usually dole out the sex scenes stingily, making sure they fit the narrative. For some reason in this story there’s a LOT of sex. Dirty, dirty, Astrid! Don’t let my Mom read it!
Anyway, as you can see, I’d rather just ogle the awesomeness of the artwork for the Crimean War novel than actually finish my novel that’s a week behind deadline, so not only am I dirty, I am lazy! So I better go back to work before my editor at Loose Id thumps me one.
