Summary: Rebekah plays matchmaker for Bonnie and Klaus
Rebekah sat watching Klaus glare at his little witch from across the room. She wasn't quite sure what had happened between them since she and Stefan had gone off over a week ago and left them alone but she could definitely sense the shift in there...relationship? Was that the appropriate word for a captor and prisoner turned lovers? And Rebekah had no doubt that they were lovers. Shuddered at thought of his brother and Bonnie doing...no no her mind would not go there! She wouldn't let it. Sometimes she really hated being a vampire. There were just some things that a sister was not supposed to know about her brother.
She stopped staring at Klaus only to turn her gaze towards Bonnie who sat pretending to ignore her brother. She quite liked Bonnie the little witch had fire and even after weeks of being locked in the basement by Klaus never seemed to fear him. When they argued it was fierce and Rebekah had laughed her self silly when during one particularly heated argument Bonnie set Klaus's crotch on fire. Even now her lips twitched with the thought of her brother trying to pat the his flaming crotch. Even more amazing was that Klaus had made no move to retaliate. That had never happened before. Rebekah would venture to guess that the reasons for that were as simple as they were complex he was taken with the little witch, HIS little witch as he liked to call her, dare she even say in love?
Rebekah was pulled from her thoughts when Bonnie shot Klaus a particularly nasty glare and rose from the couch and walked out onto the porch. Rebekah turned and caught sight of her brother staring after Bonnie with longing before rising and going upstairs. She'd had enough! Those two were really bringing her down and while she was not looking forward to being in the same house as her brother and the witch while they had sex she'd take that over the silence and angry glances any day! She decided to take the easier route and approach Bonnie first.
Walking out onto the porch with an enthusiasm she wasn't quite feeling Rebekah sat down next to Bonnie on the porch swing. "So...how are things?", she said. Bonnie turned to look at her with a question in her eyes. Rebekah let out a huff of air. She was no good with small talk! "What's going on between you and my brother? Why aren't you speaking to each other?", she said in a rush. Bonnie folded her arms over her chest. "Why don't you ask him?"she said. "Because he will never tell me.", Rebekah replied. "And neither will I. He knows what he did.", Bonnie said. Rebekah sat thinking about that for a second before answering. "You know I like you Bonnie. And because I like you I'm going to let you in on a secret about my brother." Bonnie turned to look at her trying not to let her interest show. "He wasn't always the man he is today. So cold and brutal. He is what life...and my parents have made him.", Rebekah said. "Should you be telling me this?", Bonnie said despite the fact that she really wanted to know what made Klaus tick. Rebekah let out a sigh, "Probably not. But I will anyway."
Bonnie stayed silent and waited for her to continue. The story that spilled out from Rebekah's lips made Bonnie's heart ache for Klaus. How could anyone have been so cruel to their own child? And no wonder he'd become the man he is today. As Bonnie listened Rebekah finished her tale of how Klaus went from being a good man to a monster. "And you see that's why I want him to have this?", Rebekah said. "This?", Bonnie said. "You. I want him to have you." Rebekah said. "Not as a toy or a pet but as an equal. He hasn't looked at anyone the way that he looks at you in such a long time. And I haven't wanted him to. I like you Bonnie. You're strong and you challenge him. He NEEDS to be challenged.", Rebekah looked Bonnie in the eyes and said, "And I want you to stay with us. Me, Stefan, and Klaus. It's been so long since I've had a sister. And that's how I see you now as a sister." Bonnie swallowed tears at her words. And simply smiled and reached out to hug her. "I'd like that. It's been far too long since I've had a sister either.", Bonnie tried to keep the bitter thoughts of Elena out of her brain as she embraced Rebekah.
The tender moment was interrupted by a voice, "Two beautiful women hugging. If they were both shirtless and one of them NOT my sister this would be perfect.", Klaus stood in the door smirking at the two of them. "Ugh.", Bonnie said releasing Rebekah and rising from the swing. "You should be thanking your sister instead of being such a jerk.", she said walking towards Klaus and taking his hand. "Thanking her for what?", Klaus said his voice uncharacteristically uncertain. "Because of her you're about to get very lucky.", Bonnie said dragging him inside. Klaus looked over his shoulder wondering what his little sister had said to his little witch to get her to forgive him and decided he didn't want to know. So long as he got what he wanted it didn't really matter. He smirked and followed his little witch up the stairs thinking of all the naughty things he was going to do to make up for lost time.
Rebekah watched them go with a smile. Yes she was going to quite enjoy having a sister again and even better she was going to enjoy getting back her brother.
