Title: Delegation
Word count: 300
Rating: Probably M, but I'm terrible at judging these things.

“Could you slam that hatch any louder, Laura? Not sure CIC heard you.”

“Willingly, Bill.”

“One of those days?”

“You've no idea. The Scorpian representative wants to build a casino.”

“It’s a good way to let people relax.”

“He wants to use your hanger bay, Bill.”

“Absolutely not.”

“Mm. Nearly passed the vote, though. Five against seven.”

“That's a military decision.”

“I did point this out.”

“Anything else?”

“My paperwork is breeding. If I had time, I'd go hunting for the spawning grounds. Is it wrong to say I long for the day we run out of paper?”

“Yes.”

“True, though. I've been in wall-to-wall meetings all day, I'm touring the Pyxia first thing tomorrow, then discussing plans for security policy with Zarek - Zarek, security policy, I ask you - then I need to rewrite my proposal for higher education, then Sarah Porter is arriving to whine about something. Then it might be time for lunch. If Tory allows.”

“You should delegate more.”

“I'm not delegating to people with no experience.”

“Train them.”

“Haven't got time”

“Get Tory to train them.”

“Tried that. She eats them for breakfast. I'm picking bits out of the carpet for weeks.”

“Excuses. Sometimes I think you do this purposefully just so you can complain about it.”

“William Adama, I don't make excuses.”

“You don't delegate either”

“Rather do things myself. Everything gets done correctly that way.”

“Would you delegate this, Laura?”

“What … oh ... ohhhhh ...“

“Or would you rather do it yourself?”

“No, Bill. I'll delegate that.”

“What about this?”

“Nhgh”

“So articulate, Madam President.”

“You try making sense when someone is doing that to you.”

“I’ll be your minister of pleasure.”

“Oh, good gods, shuddup, Bill. Use that mouth for something useful”

“Like this?”

“Mmmmm … I'll delegate to you. You're well trained.”
