Weeeeeeeell, I don't really agree. Here are the issues I have with covering up:

1) Many babies (including mine) don't want their heads covered while they eat. I sure wouldn't want mine covered. It's also really hard to get your bra unhooked and the baby latched if you can't see what you're doing.

2) When a baby is properly latched and nursing, you can't really see anything anyway.

3) Saying that nursing moms should cover up perpetuates the idea that nursing is kind of weird and icky, rather than a normal, non-sexual activity.

4) You can say "Well, no one wants to see that," but I see lots of things I don't really want to see among the general public, but other people have a right to behave and dress as they please so long as it doesn't harm me.

Before I had a baby, I thought I'd never be one of those moms who BFs in public. But once I had my baby, I cared more about what Sarah needed than what random passersby thought. And if she needed to nurse on a bench in a mall, that's what we did. I understand that can make people uncomfortable, but a teeny baby doesn't understand why she has to wait when she's hungry, and adults have the ability to look away. So I prioritized her needs over what other people might have thought. I don't really regret it.
