Verdict: brilliantly crafted movie, and very much NOT for anyone with an embarrassment/mortification squick. If you don't know what that is, you don't have it, so go see the movie. Me? I was only prevented from fleeing because we were there with friends. But if you do have the squick, I recommend lying in wait for the DVD and fast-forwarding through the painful bits.

Also, if it was anyone but Tom Hanks, there would be slash out the wazoo for this thing. Alas, Tom Hanks looks about as slashable as Gimli.

So... um... anyone have any recs yet?
