Dear Friends,
Hello! Something dangerous happened to me today. Even though I don't have time (ha!) I went to Pastor Bender's adult catechism class as usual (there's a group of students who drive about an hour to the study every Monday evening). I had an interesting discussion about history on the way over. One good thing about being a reenactor is that you have SOMETHING to talk about with battle/gun oriented guys. You can even sound reasonably knowledgeable--"Oh, yes, I've fired a 'Henry'--it's much lighter than a rifle musket."
The study was great, as usual.
The driving was difficult because the world was enshrouded in a thick, heavy, opaque cloud of fog. Our driver crept along as carefully as possible. We arrived safely and began to walk through the parking lot. Suddenly one of the guys yelled, "Look out!" and gestured us wildly off the road. We leaped onto the grass, and up (quite fast) came the other carload of students. I speak the truth, my friends, when I say that we were narrowly run down in the fog. I didn't realize how close it was until we were all walking in and I realized how shaky the people in the OTHER car were. Everyone was laughing the sort of laugh that sounds "breathy," and I think the driver sat in the car for a while before coming in. He's actually known as a dangerous driver...
