First Icon batch!

I've been messing around with GIMP lately and after looking at a couple tutorials, I decided to try to make some icons ^.^ I really don't have a proper method of making icons...I mostly just mess around with textures and brushes, lol. The icons are so cuuuuute ♥ -- also, how did you put the backgrounds behind Zidane and iforgethernameallthetime Garnet? I'm just wondering if there is an easier way of doing it 'cause I have to painstakingly remove whatever background there is manually before putting in a texture ;-;

For number 3, I use a similar method too. I remove the background by using the free select tool on Zidane and Garnet, which is a pain in the butt like you said :/ As for number 8, the background was part of the artwork, so I didn't need to remove the background. I'd also love a more easier method, lol.

Oh god, #03 came out gorgeous though. When I try and take out the original background it comes out pretty crappy if I'm not careful xD

But darn, I thought there was an easier method 'cause yours looked so nice! ahhahaha. Thank you though and a;woiejslfkj pretty icons are pretty ♥

Thanks *blushes*! It usually takes me three or four times to select the image since my hand twitches every now and so I have to start over, lol. It might be easier with a tablet I think, which is why I'm saving up for one. :D

Good luck with saving up for a tablet! :D -- I never used gimp before, but I like Photoshop just because of the history bar/box >__>; If I happen to twitch, I can just go a step back and it'll take me back to when I last lifted up my finger from the left click. (... Hard to explain, but hopefully understandable? xD)
