Are you British? There were a few phrases that stood out to me.

Yes, I am British: which phrases stood out? I'm used to people writing Harry Potter stories who need Britpicking that I don't stop and think about my fics needed Americanising... ^^;
Oh, and your icon makes me smile... ^_^

The icon was made by coffeeebreak -- I love it too!

Don't know if it matters, but American teens would be more likely to say "drunk" or "wasted" before they'd say, "pissed." You must be a Brit, yeah? I love that phrase though, it makes more sense than how we Yanks use it :)

Yes, I am British, and shall go change that immediately. As I said to the previous commenter, I'm used to people writing Harry Potter stories who need Britpicking that I don't stop and think that my fics need Americanising...(and now my beta's annoyed because I didn't tell her it was meant to be American.)
I totally agree that 'pissed' is a better word, though. ^_~ Although I do use it to mean 'angry', too, I think it's all the American TV I watch. ^_^
Thanks again!

Oh, HP was my first fandom, and I was *always* needing my stuff Brit-picked. It was kind of a relief to find X-Men and be able to write in American English like I was used to. *g*
And I sort of feel like I should apologize for all the television we inflict on other countries. *apologizes*

lol, I can imagine: I find the same thing whenever I return to HP, because I know I'm not going to make any cultural mistakes like that. The worst is anime fandoms, though, especially when they've got American versions... ^^;
And don't apologise; without American TV, there would be no Friends, no classic Starsky And Hutch, no Dead Like Me, Will and Grace, The OC...and, of course, no X-Men or Evo. ^_~ It's strange that British TV doesn't seem to do so well in the States, though, because it's actually pretty good when it's not Doctor Who (that is one program I think only us Brits can truly appreciate!).
