My Family's Scary Inner Slashers...or not...
ME: *sighs* I love Remus Lupin. You just wanna pick him up and hug him and tell him everything's gonna be okay...
DAD: *coldly* He's not huggable.
ME: Yes, he is! He is now officially Britain's Most Huggable Werewolf 2004.
DAD: *facepalm*
...
MUM: *reads
The Case For R/S by
elwing_alcyone* I'm not convinced.
...
MUM: *starts rereading OotP*
...
MUM: I don't know about slash, but Remus and Sirius do have a lot of affection for each other, which Rowling does portray beautifully, even if she did miss out a comma and write 'Snape' instead of 'Sirius' one time.
...
ME: *listens to Michael (gay song!)*
DAD: Turn that rubbish off! I don't approve of your fixation with gay people!
MUM: Finally! I thought you were okay with it!
ME: *mumbles* Hypocrite.
...
MUM: I don't object to your slash...I mean, I can see why you may believe these characters are gay.
ME: Dad hates slash...and you have to admit that you love it really!
MUM: Well, I do like the...speculation...
...
MUM: *completely out of nowhere* Well, I'm not sure they're not gay, but I'm not absolutely convinced they are...

And people wonder where I get my issues from.
In addition, I bought a pack of PoA playing cards a while back, and was giggly for hours about the fact that Seamus and Lupin were both queens (hehehe) even though there were tons of female characters that could have taken their places.
Anyway, I told EVERYONE about this, with great amusement, and my genius brother just picked up the pack, rifled through, and found the cards.
The conversation that followed:
Greg: Hey, Lupin's a queen!
Me: (absently) Yeah, so's Seamus, you already knew that.
Greg: Yeah, but I just realised that it's, well... QUEER.
