WoW Weekend report

On Friday night I ran Blackfathom Deeps with a couple girls of the guild. Cinna had opted out. I took my frosty mage. It was fun, no wipes, just a very smooth operation. Took a bit longer than expected. I got Rod of the Sleepwalker which is pretty nice and will replace my Crescent Staff. More int rocks.

On Saturday, I had my first really negative experience in WoW that makes all lame PUGs seem tame. I had been looking to get a +9 intellect enchantment on my Glowing Brightwood Staff. This is apparently a very rare enchant on Bronzebeard horde-side. It drops in Live Stratholme and so far our guild enchanters haven't gotten the drop yet. I already have all the mats for it: 12 Greater Eternal Essences and 2 Large Brilliant Shards. I paid about 150 gold for the mats. So, Saturday Cinna excitedly tells me she finally found a high-level enchanter who can do it. Well, to sum it up, I traded the mats to him, and he ran off with them, sent them to an alt of his, disconnected on me and deleted his character. And I felt pretty dumb, because I should have just left when I saw the guy was only wearing his tabard. I just thought he was one of the regular freaks hanging around Orgrimmar, not someone who was just out to fuck with someone.

As he deleted all his known alts as well, his guild couldn't do much for me. I did send a petition to the GMs about the scam, had a really pleasant conversation with a GM who told me he would avenge my honor, and the next day, one of the 'Specialist Account Investigators' had restored all of my mats to me. That made me so happy! That really ruled, it's good to know they will protect people. Also, people were very nice to me, especially mfirefly who gave me a +20 spirit enchant instead, for free. That's just unbelievably awesome, thank you so much again!

Saturday, we also had our guild party. We met on one of the Echo Isles in Durotar, and there was much fun with Savoury Deviate Delight, Noggenfogger and fireworks. Cinna ran a scavenger hunt and a raffle with prizes, and there was this awesome fashion contest that made me laugh so much. The winner was Kouprey, a dark Tauren with the Valentine's Day dress and Whitemane's Chapeau. Hilarious. Cariad came very close with her plate bikini outfit and the fiery shoulders. :) Good times. I love it that I can be in a guild that rocks the instances and questing, but also does social stuff together.

Sunday, we first 3-manned SM library with our druids and Lizelle, one of the guild mages. She still doesn't have her Illusionary Rod. I think I hate tanking in bear form. Stupid big bear butt, how do others do it? Drives me crazy. I wish I could run instances with my warrior instead, as warriors remain my first love. Her level bracket is a bit empty though. Later, we ran Sunken Temple with our standard group. Great run; nice, challenging fights, and no wipe in sight. Loot was a bit disappointing, the only cloth drops were no upgrades for either of us. First time ever I beat the Hakkar event, that was awesome. I am 12k exp away from 57 now, huzzah! Next Sunday we'll start our forays into Blackrock Depths, and that has me so excited. I feel like a big girl now. The quest lists and bosses are a bit intimidating. This place is huge. Can't wait. :)
