Danger averted, the conference call was a piece of cake and actually quite dull. Only 30 minutes, so that's alright. It's really dead at work, almost noon, only 80 calls so far.
I finally got all Christmas gifts for Cinna, woot! Hint to self: order stuff more than a week before Christmas for a more relaxed shopping experience. My brothers and spouses will get some gift thingy from Lush which we recently discovered in D'dorf. I think they'll like that. For my mom I wrecked my head. She asked for a Senseo, one of those fancy one-cup coffee machines. And you know, it makes sense, my mom drinks maybe a cup of coffee a day, why brew herself a whole pot? My brothers probably will think it's not practical, whatever. So, my mom deserves to be happy, so she gets what she asked for.
We're going to cook together for Christmas, so I am really looking forward to that, that should be fun. On Christmas Eve Cinna is making a surprise dish, and on Christmas Day we'll have a roast chicken and lots of other stuff. On Boxing Day we go to Dortmund to exchange gifts at my eldest brother's house and then have dinner at a steakhouse.
WoW-wise,
liakela is GOD, because she gave me this drop of hers for Christmas:
Wall of the Dead. When it procs I get to see creepy bones spinning around me, it's so cool! Doesn't proc a lot, but it's perfect for tanking. I ran Uldaman for the first time, with a weird group: 52 mage, 47 paladin, 42 warrior, 40 priest, and me, at the time a 47 warrior. The paladin sucked ass. He kept yelling 'I'll tank!', body-pulled whole groups, and then almost died. That even though he had 1000 less life than I did. Why? Because he likes to see the whirlwind effect of his Ravager axe. WTF. So the priest and I were fed up, because he wasn't even tanking effectively and I took over tanking. Promptly, dude started to idle, because...his pitbulls were driving him mad and he needed to beat them up. Three times, in an hour. Which meant he went afk during the fight where you get to fight four earthen guards one after the other. The 42 warrior took off before that and so the mage got one of his buddies, a 53 paladin, to join us. Then the priest lost link, and we stood before Archaedas' door. The 53 paladin said there was no way we could do this, but that we should test-run the encounter at least once, as we were all Uldaman newbies. We all went for Archaedas and ignored all the adds and guess what? Made it. Woot. He dropped the
Archaedic Stone of the Owl which I didn't roll for. I then finished the other quests, group disbanded and grrrr, I find out that I have a follow-up quest now, that requires killing Archaedas. Again. So, hook up with me, any of you who want to go to Uldaman. You get shitloads of greens there, I think I got 8 or so. Nothing I could use, but not bad stuff. Only notable drop for me was
Galgann's Fireblaster, which is now my beautiful gun and punishes them hard when I pull mobs. Woo!
Also hit 48 and will do some nice questing in Tanaris and Searing Gorge, now that I am done with all quests in Feralas and Hinterlands.
