Oh, definitely agreed. I always thought, on the first time that phrase was said, that Jane/Helen subtext was being implied. ;)

I also love how, when Rochester is angsting in "Farewell Good Angel", he overdramatically shouts "WHYYYY MUST I HAVE EYES TO SEE YOU'RE NOT THERE?". XD

*laughs* That really is quite amusing. I've had countless moments like that, when I've thought someone in a musical was saying something really bizzare when truly it was something quite commonplace.

Also, that particular mishearing of yours reminds me a bit of Gift of the Magi; "My hair cut short..." "My watch at the pawnshop..."
