Hope everyone in the US had a great Thanksgiving! Mine was ok ... we had a nice family dinner at home and some friends from Guatemala spent the day with us. All was good -- tons of food and music and (thanks to said friends) rum.
You know your dog is a secret boozer when you catch her lapping up rum from a spilt bottle on the floor, you yell and scold her, she blinks up at you ... basically gives you the finger (or paw as the case may be) and commences to finish up a puddle of coconut-flavored goodness before tripping over to her doggy pillow and passing out for the rest of the night O__O
Funnily enough, we made margaritas the next night and said dog sat at our feet, watching us like a hawk and wagging her tail until we finished ... then she ignored us for the rest of the night --__--
Hi. My name is Alex and my dog's an alcoholic. *shakes head and snickers*
In other news: The job never happened ... I was bummed at first, but hey. Some good news: I am going to be returning to school *cabbage-patches in her chair* I register tomorrow for Winter Quarter and I think I'm just going to stick with a math class for now. Math does horrible things to my brain -- which is why I figure I'll tackle that first and work my way from there. Mom and Dad have offered to help pay for my class, which is awesome, and I'm still job-hunting in the meantime.
OOO! Brokeback Mountain in three weeks -- w00t! Yup, that's right -- I'm on the ever-growing bandwagon. I'm so friggin' excited about this flick and actually have money set aside for tickets because that's the sort of obsessive movie geek I am (shuddup, Stinky). I've convinced my sister to go with me when it opens ... she finally agreed when I told we'd get to see Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal mack =D If you haven't read the short story it's based on, readreadread! Uncompromising and unsentimental, it's seriously one of the best (and most honest) love stories I've come across and from what I hear, the film does the story proud ... which makes me even more anxious to see it. Whenever I hear about some Hollywood gay-themed movie, I have In & Out flashbacks. I'm optimistic, though. Bring on the cowboy lovin' *claps happily*
Now ... to convince my semi-conservative brother-in-law to join in the BBM love ...
*sinister cackle ... thunder clap*
