Why are people at social services so completely fucked up? I desparately need food stamps right now, have been checking my mailbox everyday for the arrival of my notice and at last...it shows up. Except...what's this? It says I have a reported income of 712.00 for the month of August AND Sept. AND Oct??? What the fuck? August is ok, I was given money by my ex and my dad. Ok. But the other months? I call up the worker and she informs me I told her the gifts were recurring to which I said..um..huh? Apparently when I said offhandedly that they'd probably give me money again if I really needed it constitutes a recurring gift. And monthly no less! And for $712.00!! This woman is arguing symantics with me while I'm eating my top ramen. I'm so fucking floored. Meanwhile, anotehr letter says my card will be another week to 10 days. Thanks. I'll really need that $60.00 when it comes.
