After a lovely smoked-turkey Christmas dinner, Bhil and I went to the local theater to watch Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Now, I love me some Robert Downey, Jr., and I think he's managed to capture to some extent exactly how difficult a person Holmes would have been to be around, but I don't remember the literary Holmes being quite so ADHD,

OTOH, the first paragraph sounds as if it could be describing the first Downey SH movie.

Well, the character is much the same, but I had far fewer kind things to say about Downey's first outing as Holmes. This film has a stronger storyline, with no black magic or mystical societies - just a relatively straight historically-based thriller. Jared Harris is nicely menacing as Moriarty and a stronger lynchpin for the plot to turn on than Mark Strong was in the first film.

As for Stephen Fry's appearance as Mycroft Holmes, let's just say the movie is very *ahem!* revealing. Strategically-placed furniture lets the film keep its PG-13 rating.

Well, my eyes didn't QUITE bleed but you do see MUCH more skin than you'd like.
