Asperger Women Association
This feels a little weird, since I've just accepted the position of their Forum Moderator, and (I believe) Contributing Writer and Board Member. :D
I just wanted to give a shout out here about the Asperger Women Association, a fairly new group with chapters all over the world.
But yes, the AWA's website is currently under construction, but their mission statement is:
"It is the objective of the association: to promote a positive image of women with Asperger's and Autism (A&A); to educate the public on the issues unique to women with A&A and their families; to offer parenting and family advice, and support from A&A Women; to create a networking opportunity for A&A women; to promote the writings, art, music and other works of A&A Women; and to provide a forum for A&A Children, and children with A&A parents. The Association will achieve these objectives with an on line web site magazine, which accumulates writings, interviews, and images by and about women with A&A, and a networking environment for sharing, with links to individual A&A women. "

And may I note that while it does say "Women", that we have men members too :D like John Elder Robinson, who is a fairly regular guest on the radio show.
