Welcome to the community! You sound like one of us.

thanks =)

I have my doubts about the usefulness of Geschwind syndrome in any other context than the continuing effort to understand the neurology of temporal lobe epilepsy.

ditto, I don't think its particularly dysfunctional, but I'm interested in how my brain works in general...I was a psychology student at one point (now in nursing, so anatomy and physiology are still pretty interesting.)

Perhaps some researcher would be interested in knowing that you have Geschwind syndrome but not temporal lobe epilepsy.

haha, I might end up with a TLE diagnosis if I got tested for it, who knows. their seizures are different from the typical grand mal/petit mal thing going on with a lot of epileptic people. it's possible that a lot of the stuff I just chalk up to the "spiritual" is related to atypical temporal lobe activity...but I'm also quite sure that either way it doesn't have anything to do with the validity of the experience, (we know all about electrical activity in the brain from seeing, say, a computer screen...no reason to assume brain activity related to seeing god is necessarily any different, even if we don't know if/where the "eyes" are just yet) and I'm not really that worried about it.

. If I think back on what I've seen in my years hanging out in this community, I recall a few people who were hyper-moral. Such people tend to get into flame wars and leave. Sometimes they get banned, but it's usually not necessary

haha, this seems to be what most people think of when I use the phrase "hyper moral" when talking about geschwinds - I tend to think of abolitionists and civil rights activists. they're pretty obnoxious, but I think it's adaptive...lol.

thanks for the welcome and the info =)
