Question; gender differences in aspergers syndrome

Jan 17, 2008 12:06

My boyfriend has looked up aspergers some, and found a lot of horror stories of women complaining about how cold and uncaring their aspie husbands are, and he keeps wondering if women are not as bad, because he doesn't see those qualities in me. I know aspie men outnumber aspie women 4:1, so that could also be the reason there are so many more horror stories about aspie husbands than aspie wives; I have no idea, so I thought I'd throw it out there. What do you guys think? Is the average case of aspergers in women not as severe as in men, or are there just fewer of them, or maybe women cope with it better because of some other reason?
