Christmastime, et all
Wow, has it ever been a long time since I've updated this thing. Needless to say, time has been a very hard thing to grasp hold of as of late. Hmm... I suppose I'll just give a quick update on the last couple of months in point form, and then sum up the post with Christmas-y goodness.
In the past two months:
1) I succeeded in achieving a greater level of competence with a camera
2) Hence, I've done a lot more photo shoots and sold a lot more photos to paying customers
3) I've battled with the evil demon corporation that is Kodak, and won (to a certain extent :P).
4) Managed to royally screw up my back to the point where I could hardly get out of bed.
5) Wound up in the emergency room due to said back injury.
6) Was off work for about 2 weeks until I could move again.
7) Went back to work and have since been doing well with only minor back discomfort.
8) Made it through the mad rush that is retail at Christmastime.
Which brings us up to date. My Christmas has been pretty awesome this year, despite worries that financial situations would make things quite shitty. The holiday has been nice and laid back... something that both Clayton and I desperately needed. I received quite a nice lot of clothes and new winter coat/boots, and Clayton and Elania both seemed quite happy with their Christmases as well. And I achieved another first today as well: I cooked Christmas dinner for just Clayton, Elania, and me pretty much all by myself (Clayton helped baste the turkey and carved it when it was done as well). Everything turned out pretty damn good, and I'm actually quite pleased that my first attempt at making gravy turned out perfect. :)
