This was perfect this is the best thing EVER and I know I keep saying this every time someone comes up with a Shireen fic but it's true! People (very rare and precious) who keep writing about her just make it better and better and better and I LOVE HOW THEY ALL ARE! Stannis and Shireen's relationship was just incredible in this fic! Oh and Davos quiet, calm and just so reliable and needed in this dynamic. And Rickon allowing with his wildness Shireen to be a batter queen! It's all I ever wanted, dreamed of etc. I want this to be canon. This needs to be seriously XD.
YOU NEED TO MAKE A SEQUEL WITH RICKON AND SHAGGY AT KL! Lol the face of the court would be priceless :p.
I'm still not over of how good this fic is. Bloody brilliant like Rolly says ;).
Oh my god. This is going on my short list of the absolute best stories ever. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it. From the freaking amazing (beautiful, contemplative, heartbreaking) character study of Davos at the beginning to the adorable closing scene. seriously, it's perfect. I love the storytelling structure and the children's interruptions. Davos's “Undoubtedly” had me cackling, which was a great foil to the heart-tugging early parts of the story (seriously, I was barely to the third paragraph before I had tears in my eyes and THEY PRAYED TOGETHER oh my heart). And I loved the little things you threw in -- Gendry's marriage, the revived reputation of the Night's Watch, and TOMMEN YES MY BB IS ALIVE ahhh! The prose is lovely, the characterization flawless, the pacing spot-on, and the framed narrative style absolutely perfect. Ugh, I feel like a broken record but I love, love, love, love this.
“They are lucky the Hand stays my own" Beautiful line, and definitely something Stannis would say. And the way Shireen treats (interrogates) her suitors is so awesome.
"How did you find the road, today?” he inquired politely. “Stony,” Stannis replied, direct as ever. Laughing so hard. Oh Stannis. <3
“Do you respect him?” Stannis asked. “Not love, I do not care for your feelings, but do you believe that can you respect him, trust him, rely on him? Would he be as loyal to you as Davos has been to me, because you can earn it of him, not buy it?”I LOVE this because it shows so very clearly what Stannis considers important. (Of course, Stannis comparing Shireen's future HUSBAND to Davos is just beautiful

This is really great. I absolutely love your Davos, his relationship with Stannis and this glimpse of the realm's future and the next generation of politics. Really well structured and compulsive reading. I love all your characterisations here - they're all really vivid, even the ones who only make a small appearance, from the children to Edric Dayne.
Wow, where to begin? Seriously, this is an amazing fic, one of the best I have ever read in any fandom, and I am so honored that it's my gift here. :) Your scope and grasp of the asoiaf is so impressive and the overall structure and plot are so well-done. This is such a natural, plausible AU and the story-telling structure worked so well. I loved all of the little interjections between Davos' grandchildren and their views on the story
