Real quick
I want to remember I feel this way in case something goes funky tomorrow and I forget.
Tomorrow is 99 nights at Drew. It's basically a big party where everyone drinks and goes "Woo, we're seniors!"
I was scheduled to work so that I would pretty much miss the whole thing. At first I was like "Eh, it's not a huge deal." Then I thought about it while trying to get someone to cover for me and realized it was sort of a big deal. I wouldn't want to be sitting around while everyone's talking about how great 99 nights was and all my stories are about how people can't order ice cream correctly.
So I opened the store today at 11, like usual, and waited til school was out to start trying to find someone to cover me. In the end, I managed to wrangle it by switching shifts with another shift supervisor. The one that was supposed to come in and relieve me. So I closed the store too.
It was long, and tiring, it wound up being about 13 hours at Coldstone without any real break to speak of, except when it was generally slow and I had nothing to do. But I feel good about it because I wanted something and I worked hard and now I can go have fun. And I'm proud of myself. Go me.
