Last night I:
- Went home at a reasonable hour - I like 5pm finishes.
- Tried not to get too upset by the muggy weather
- Watched more episodes of Bewitched
- Worked through some more scrapbooking while watching Bewitched. Found faxes my parents sent to me while I was at Marshmead (yes, mail came only twice a week due to remote location, so when parents found out the fax number they used that instead). Most of them have faded due to the shiny old fashioned fax paper. Two that survived had some classic parent of adolescent comments. They were coming to visit for parent's weekend, so Dad said 'if there's anything you don't want us to wear, now is the time to let us know'. After parents weekend, Mum sent me a cute little banner thing she made on the computer (days of continuous computer paper) and said 'I hope the banner isn't too embarassing, but I wanted to thank you for a lovely weekend'. You see, she cottoned on to the fact that girls whose parents wrote 8 page letters would get picked up on this if they were faxed, and would be mercilessly teased. I made her limit her faxes to 1 page and she breached it with a very obvious piece of graphic artistry
- Did the dishes
- Tidied up. Will be easier to keep clean now that I'm not working and getting started of 20 things during the day
- Emailed all the people I had on my 'people to email' list. I'm trying to get better at keeping in touch with people I don't see on a regular basis
This morning I:
- Was disgusted with the amount of time it takes to catch the tram into work, and still end up being late. Missed the train which went to old work and was quick. Dispaired that the Upfield line goes through the loop, and does so at Flagstaff so it misses Spencer St entirely, unless you want to go through Flinders St and wait around. Thought this was stupid, and that there must be a way to get from Upfield line to Spencer St. Looked at website. There is. In the morning I get off at Flagstaff and catch the trains going around the other direction. In the evening I go to Nth Melbourne and change to upfield line then
- Nibbled on nectarines, sultanas and dates all morning. Last year I tried to take these things to work each day, but would never get around, or fruit would get squished, and I'd instead go downstairs to pick up a toasted sandwich or cake or something. This week I'm trialing taking it in at the beginning of the week, to save having to individually package it, and having not enough/too much
- Got stuck into re-filing. It's going to be very confusing, as boss has requested that certain files be filed under certain categories, so we have to keep it that way. However in the interests of consistency, they should be in other places, so we're going to take copies and put them in the new place so stuff will be filed in multiple places, and I've got to go through and photocopy entire files which need to be split up and it's confusing and it's going to be a a nightmare! urgh!
- In spite of that, I'm starting to settle into new job, and phone and financials are a lot eaiser to handle too
