hey its time for another post from jjs,
though soo much has happend since the last one im not even going to start..
lets just talk about today,
today we had a quite one because we havnt stopped moving since we got here. we just went to a department store and looked around, then had sushi train for lunch, it was insane.. all sushi was 105 yen.. and it was sooooo cool. there was a little touch screen and if you wanted some sushi that wasnt comming around you could order it, then in a few minutes it came round on the conveyer belt with your table number on it and on a special orange podeum. the table beeped when the speically orderd dish was comming close.. at each table there was a little shoot which you slid your dirty plates into.. it counted them and every five plates you got a roulette wheel went round and if you one a ball with a tiny toy came rolling out of a pipe in the roof.
i love green tea! i cant get enough of it. at this place there was like a little thing with tea and then over the dirty plate shoot there was like a very fancy earn noozle
the sushi was soo good. i started with tuna, then egg, shrimp, salmon, eel, snapper, shrimp and crab.. i could have kept going but i was massivly full. ive never eaten so much raw animal in my life! the only cooked thing was the egg
about egg, the other day we where at mnt fuji and i had some black egg. its egg that is cooked in the sulfure coming from the rocks that are heated by the lava in mnt fuji.the shell is jet black, the inside is just like every other hard boild egg ever. in some cultures its called a 1000 year egg, they belive that when you eat one it makes you live an extra 1000 years. other cultures call them the 7 year eggs. a more achivable goal i think.
after lunch we went to a super market and i stocked up on japanese lollys, the department store was quite a show....i played this awsome arcade game where you hit massive bongos with a wooden stick in rythm... [as seen on lost in translation :)]
now that we hav left tokyo we havbeen sleeping in real japanese houses which is awsome, where i am now i went to hav a shower, and i saw the bath,then i saw the shower nozel,but i couldnt find the shower...then i realised that the whole room was a freaking shower!!!! how crazy is that! there are heaps of awsome little things about technology here that are just so much better in a design sence... like in showers there are two handles to control the water.... one has a market section which is off... and then if you twist in one direction it conrols the water pressure comming through the shower and if you trist it back past off and the other way it changes over to the tap at the bottom on controls the pressure of that. the other handle is marked in degrees so you can easyaly choose what temperature you want> and stick with it... herer you can get it really really hot, but you hav to hold a red button in whilst you turn the tap if you want it to be able to goo up to really hot.
its not massivly great but its just so much better!!!..
OH! and the mirrors have heating elements in them so there is a square of the mirror that doesnt fog up with steam. it stays hot enough so there is no condencation. oh and the train station ticket machines are sooo good: you can buy a 1000 yen ticket and slowly chip away at it... when the time comes that your almosT run out but you have a few yen left on it...but not enough to buy a train ticket...you can just buy another one and then put it in with your old one AT THE SAME TIME... it sucks both of them up and takes a little from both... then swallows the empty ones and then gives you the freash one... and on the busses when the door isnt open and your not on a stop if you put money into theticket machine it just comes out as change...its designed so you can get coinage for when you hav to pay... oh and there are no buttons at traffic crosings.. it just works . there are no need for those buttons,the cars hav to stop anyWays!
when you turn a light off the switch glowes the tinyest bit so you can find it in the dark!
and the best of all are that the light switches with dimmers.. dont hav switches..they are just dimmers. this is soo great.. its something ive been batteling with for soooooo long.
