Samuel, at eight weeks, is much more at ease, calm, breathing better.
No wonder, we just learned that the pre-op exam showed that his windpipe was closed 75% to 95% by the compression of the aorta on it. Fancy diagnosis name Tracheamalacia
The earlier lesser important diagnosis, Laryngolmalacia, was inconsequential in comparison. Doctors feel with time his laryngeal tissue will firm up to reduce or eliminate the vibration in his throat as he breathes.
He has about a five inch incision mark between two of his right ribs where the surgeons gained access to his aorta - to put it inot a sling and pull it forward toward his bresat bone (sort of a hammock for the aorta) and away from his trachea.
He doesn't seem to be discomfitted by the incision.
God is good, all the time - and we thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
