Say you're entering a contest of some sort. The deadline to enter this contest is, say, November 10th. The website specifically says "Deadline: November 10th (Midnight EST ( Read more... )

I would think it was 11:59 on November 10.

i always assume 11:59 on the day before, which is why i think midnight deadlines are stupid. at least put the time in a different timezone and say something like "9pm pacific" or something, to avoid all the confusion around midnight

Option A: The deadline is exactly 12:00am November 10th, one minute after 11:59pm on November 9th.

Many of the online contests I've entered mark their deadline as 11:59pm on the chosen date to help avoid confusion. I think it would be easier if the contest rule writers did that.
