The past few weeks-no wait- the whole summer has been a whirlwind with camp. When camp finished a week and a half ago, I had three days at home to get ready to leave for CA. And the past week has been spent there and driving cross-country. That is my excuse for not updating in forever.
Soooo my second summer of being a camp counselor was great. Exhausting, but great. Brief summary: God blessed me with so many new friendships and the deepening of old ones. I think the biggest thing God taught me this summer was how much I need to rely on Him...completely. My goal was to serve others in love, and the only way to do that is to let Christ live his life through me. I gave up on trying and putting forth my own effort and instead gave it to Jesus because He's the only one who can accomplish that in me. *Your grace has found me just as I am, empty handed but alive in Your hands.*
So after camp got over with I packed my bags and jumped on plane bound for the OC (I really like saying that). I stayed in Huntington Beach for a few days with my bro and his wife. Spent alot of time at the beach, swam in the ocean for the first time and had my first surfing lesson, and just relaxed! It was amazing! Then I met up with my roomie's family, spent another day jumping and fighting the waves, and then headed back to her house. Monday morning we began our journey from Cali to Missouri in Bob- roadtrip of a lifetime! It's been a blast! And tomorrow we will drive to the other side of the state for a wedding- more good times ahead! Too many details to include in one entry, but you've got the gist of it.
