we all have to eat

we all get complacent

i dont hate gatsby or loman or pip
we all fail to live up to our expectations

i dont hate being drunk and alone on a sunday night
we all have our vices

i dont hate the friends i once had for not being friends anymore
we all have women that want a piece of us

i dont hate myself for not being with the one that got away
we all know birds that were never meant to be caged

i hate myself because i lie to everyone
we all lie

we all invent these little worlds to wrap our indignity in
we all invent a life more exciting than the one we lead
we all pine for something more

more........ what more do we need?
