I suppose Brodeur will have to retire soon, so it's good there's another goalie there....maybe they can score by committee and not give up any shots?

I assume Brodeur will retire at the end of this season, when his contract expires? I mean, given his age-related decline, it seems unlikely that he'd get another contract, so they definitely need a back-up, and given the high number of back-to-back games, a starter-quality backup.

3-0. :( OK, the season can only get better from here, right? Right. That's my story.

Yeah, that seems likely. It sucks that this is the year they lose their first-rounder, dunno why they didn't give up the pick the year they were picking 29th.

I think the year was assigned by the league when they punished the the Devils for the Kovalchuk deal?

I thought it had to be within the next 3 years but they didn't specify a year. Maybe I'm wrong.
