time for another all-too-frequent "so tired of my colleagues" post
I just. There's no practicality or common sense. None.
I was doing some data analysis in my office when Post-Doc came in and said she thought the CO2 incubator was leaking. So I went in, and yeah, Y-connector on the tubing that runs from the CO2 tank to the incubator was hissing. Did she close the tank, to stop the over-pressure? No. Did she check the regulator and dial it back to lower the pressure at the valve? No. She came to find someone else to fix it for her.
Because when she sets up her own lab, she'll obviously have someone to fix everything for her. (This is the dumbass who stuck tubing directly to the vacuum line without setting up a trap and couldn't figure out why it clogged after aspirating the medium off a handful of plates.)
Oh, and the regulator? Was working normally when I left work last night. So someone fucked with it between 6:30pm last night and 10am this morning. Three guesses who. My guess: the other Post-Doc.
