It has been a wretchedly long, cranky day.
Started super early. Got worse when I found that some jackass a colleague left the door to one of the -20C freezers open overnight, possibly over the weekend, thawing thousands of dollars worth of reagents. Because the emails I've sent (four in the last six weeks) reminding all lab members to close the door firmly, plus the sign that says CLOSE FIRMLY clearly are useless.
Got into an argument when another colleague tried to take an item off my bench while it was in use because she needed it and hadn't planned ahead to reserve the item for her own use. Obviously the presence of the item on my bench, full of samples and liquid nitrogen, meant that I wasn't using it, and it would be okay for her to take it for a few hours.
Just spent four more hours imaging. Have a headache and sore throat (again; that's pretty much every day for the last week now).
BUT.
I won free tickets to see the Old 97s on Thursday at the House of Blues. If Aaron doesn't want to go, who wants to be my date? I promise to put out not to rant about work too much.
