the response certainly was speedy.

Thank you for your e-mail. I have attached the link to our FAQ which addresses your concern:

I will also share your comments with our Communications Team regarding the wording on the packaging. Thank you so much for your feedback and sharing our animal friendly commitment.

the link goes on to explain the treatment of the bees used to harvest propolis... and i'm wondering if my point was lost; it doesn't matter to me how well the bees are being treated - my issue is that they are being used, period. propolis was also described as being animal-derived, as opposed to being called an animal ingredient. what the hell is the difference between these two terms? is milk considered an animal ingredient, or simply an animal-derived product? i'm tired of these abstract classifications.

i was feeling too crummy to go to kraig's on friday, so i missed out on homemade soup. we've tentatively re-scheduled for monday. hopefully i'll be feeling better by then and i can make us cupcakes.

i also missed tea with susanna today, which was a bummer since she is leaving for california tomorrow. we still managed a delightful phone conversation and she's gonna be back in two weeks, so i guess it's not that big of a deal... oh! and she's going to a retreat out there hosted by derrick jensen!! i'm so happy for her - i bet that will be incredible. and shortly after we got off the phone, comrade called with the news that derrick jensen will be here in victoria on october 20th!! i guess he's touring with a new book. i'm thrilled. tickets are apparently only twelve bucks too, so it's definitely affordable. yay!

in other news... my darling rat riot has a lump. a big one that just appeared over night, on her neck, between her jaw and right leg. she doesn't seem to be in any pain or acting differently or to even notice it's there, other than the fact that she doesn't like it being touched. i've called her vet and made an appointment... it's hard, knowing she's at the end of her lifespan, and recalling all of the pain i went through when revolution & riot passed away, and all the pain they went through. these little creatures have such little lifespans.

to ease this sadness & worry, and my sickly sickness, i'm watching muppet family christmas. i've yet to encounter a single sadness that cannot be cheered by some muppet goodness.
