So yesterday was very low-key as far as birthdays go. I went out to Miyabi for dinner with my family and some family friends. We ordered a sashimi boat ($50) which was decidedly underwhelming, but the rest of the meal was delicious as usual, expecially the takoyaki (octopus meat balls).
My brother got me the Black Books boxset so I can rewatch it to my heart's content. I also got given two cute little bottles of 42 Below (in kiwi and feijoa). They're exactly like the full-sized bottles but only 14cm tall - and they're made of glass, none of this cheap plastic mini shit.
Chris' Poison Recipe #1: I was at a end-of-term faculty party and the only vodka they had left was 42 Below feijoa, so the bartender mixed that with Coke for me and it was surprisingly good. It's become a favourite of mine. I should give it a name. Hmmm...
