Bienvenido a Miami "Welcome to Miami"

Jul 31, 2007 17:35

So, last week was my trip to Miami with my parents. :D I had to admit it was pretty fun, and there was much to do. :D We went off to the Miami Metrozoo, the Miami Seaquarium, John Pennecamp for snorkelling, South Beach, Key Largo, Key West, ate at Joe's Stonecrabs, had lots of paella, and got horrendously tan. :D

At the Miami Metrozoo on Sunday, we saw several animals.. Haha obviously, but my personal favorites had to be...

The Flamingoes:

The Asian Elephants:

And the Giraffes!!!

I had to admit the one photo of the baby giraffe reminded me of Confuzzled on my facebook page. XD He looked soo confused, but the poor keeper didn't have enough branches to feed the guy, and the gay ass keeper didn't share with everyone! Douchebag! Haha j/k j/k.

On Sunday, after our first day at South Beach the day before, we went and had dinner at Joe's Stone Crabs after a good hearty day of swimming. The stone crabs were awesome especially some of the other things we got to have haha. Such as father's:

Seafood Capriccio... Or however it's spelled hahaha. And I loved my Grouper Fillet. Haha. :]

On the other attraction we went to on Monday, the Pennekamp Coral Reef Sea Park, had an awesome reef just off the Florida Keys. :D Unfortunately, I didn't have an underwater camera this year, but apparently the main attraction for the park was this rather random statue sitting at the bottom of the ocean:

They called it Statue of Christ of the Abyss... Slightly fitting if I may say, but unfortunately after 2 and half hours of diving, I couldn't find it hahahaha. Mainly, because as much as I tried to look around the buoy that marked where it was, it was still a bit ways off hahaha. But other highlights of that trip were definitely the barracuda fish, and all the silver and striped fish going around. :D The barracuda swam right in front of me as I was heading back to the boat. Haha.

After our snorkelling, we all took a long drive down to the Florida Keys. Father thought it was a long drive and didn't think much of it until mother persisted, but I think it was quite worth the drive, after all who would've love to see a sight like this:

That water was absolutely beautiful and as hot as a jaccuzzi. No lie. Hahaha. It was amazing. :D

The other attraction we went to after that day of snorkelling was the Everglades Tour. I got about 4 photos of alligators, one being about 13 feet long and several more photos of alligators during the alligator show. :D Other photos included photos of a pond lilly and myself holding Snappy the Alligator. :D

Isn't he cute? Haha. Well, after that was the Miami Seaquarium, but I have no photos of that either because my camera's memory card was full, and after a while, all the battery in father's video camera died. -_- Too bad I say especially, when I could've gotten so many neat shots of the dolphins and the killer whale doing neat tricks with the trainers! Oh well, I suppose. After that trip on Wensday, we didn't do much on Thursday except for more hanging around on South Beach to enjoy our last night there. For dinner, we went off to Ocean's Ten to chow down on paella, fish sandwiches, and salads. We were SO full, and we couldn't finish the paella haha. But taking account into the GIANT king lobster that came with it, I doubt you could blame us. Needless to say we had a good breakfast the next morning. Yum!

And after that, it was off to the airport and back to Lancaster we went! Well, until Sunday that is for me where I got to see Uteng for a few hours. :] We hung around his house for a while then spent a small part of the evening watching The Simpsons Movie. That was such a good movie haha. It totally rekindled my love of the Simpsons. XD Well.. I never stopped loving them haha, but it certainly gave me more appreciation for all the shows that I have seen, and makes me wish I had seen all the ones I missed. I certainly dont really know what happened after Flanders's wife died. Haha. Oh and one more photo for the road. :D I want this car so badly. Won't some rich person give it to me? :D
