Continuing to please me (which is clearly the goal of all Asian film distributors) with the release of titles I genuinely enjoy, 5 Points Pictures recently sent out the solicitation notice for Korean mystery thriller Moss. The 2-disc, special-edition U.S. DVD release is set for August 21, 2012 and will feature upgraded English translations and 90 minutes of extras.
I'm always crazy about special features, so whenever I see that a release will include a totally separate disc of bonus material, my collector radar starts going a little crazy.
Special features: “The Making of Moss,” “The Beginning of the Story - The Comic Behind the Story,” art and set design documentary (“The Birth of the Village”), make-up and effects featurette (“Come Out to the Real World”), poster shoot video, original South Korean teaser and trailer, cast and director bios, and 5 Points Pictures trailers.
Looks like a pretty packed set of extra goodies!
And if you're a performance devotee, Moss' cast includes quite a few big-name leading and character actors like
Jung Jae-young,
Park Hae-il,
Yoo Hae-jin, and
Kim Sang-ho. Top that off with direction by
Kang Woo-suk, and you've got a film with a formidable pedigree.
