Happy birthday to SUNAO, guitarist of the Jrock band abingdon boys school, who turns 39 today!!

abingdon boys school is the band created by Takanori Nishikawa in 2005. They are named after Abingdon School, which is the all-boys school in England where the band Radiohead was formed. The band itself is modeled after Radiohead. The group was formed by Takanori Nishikawa in 2005, also known as T.M. Revolution, with the support of other members of his T.M. Revolution project.

Before the band performed for the first time on stage at CD Data Present Music Evolution '05 in November, alongside other bands, they participated in the Love for Nana ~Only One Tribute~ compilation album in March. Towards the end of 2005, they performed a Buck-tick cover song on a tribute album.

Their debut single, Innocent Sorrow, was released under Sony Music Japan in December 2006. Right from the start, the band became extremely popular: Innocent Sorrow made its debut at #5 on the charts.

abingdon boys school’s second single, Howling, was released in May 2007, and achieved very similar success, but upping its debut position to #4. Their third single, Nephilim, was released in July, and reached #5 on the charts.  Three days after its release, they performed their three singles at a concert in Tokyo entitled “Live Earth.”

They released their first full album in October, 2007, and their fifth single on December 12. They also recorded the song “Sweetest Come Again” for the Luna Sea: Memorial Cover album, a tribute to the famous band.

Since the release of their second single Blade Chord the band has not released another single or album. Their next release is scheduled for July 16, and it will be a two-version concert DVD. There is no word on any new singles or albums.

abingdon boys school really is a great band. I don’t really like Takanori’s solo stuff, but he fits really well into this band. The music just has a feel to it that’s mature and sophisticated, but still fun. I have liked all of their singles, as far as I can remember. :3

Since I’ve uploaded all of their singles, including Blade Chord, their latest, except for one, I decided to upload that one. You can feel free to take a look at the older posts and see what you would like me to reupload.

Howling
This is actually the one single I didn’t have until like right now. xD; This happens to be the first opening to the anime Darker than Black, which I know nothing about. But yeah. In all honesty, I can’t say I like this song as much as their other songs. It’s just got less of the awesomeness. Nevertheless it’s still a pretty great song, I think, and I think you ought to listen to it. =D
