JaeSu, huh?
Well to start off, I remember having a conversation with someone a long time ago and they said that it seemed to them that everyone's favorite member was Jaejoong, except Junsu. And admittedly, that seemed like the case. Jaesu has had this kind of 'awkwardness' between them that has even caused a small number (or big? idk) of fans to question if they even liked each other. I think the explanation lies in their personalities.
Junsu is the type of person that is nice to everyone, but close to only a few. And I think that's expected since he has had so much support from outside of the band such as his family (parents & Junho) and of course his bestest friend for freaking life, Hyukjae. Jaejoong, on the other hand, becomes best friends with anyone whom he exchanges five sentences. In addition to his natural personality, it stems a lot from leaving home and being on his own and just having to make friends. His attempts to talk to Junsu apparently didn't start off so great -- so much so that even Jaejoong himself thought that there was a possibility that Junsu didn't like him. It wasn't until later that Jaejoong realized that Junsu just simply cannot multi-task (Jaesu Couple Talk I), which entailed thinking and listening at the same time.
Yeah, but, JaeSu?
So, right, how they work. What I have to say is: It's not all music. I feel like the music part of their connection has been overdone and overexaggerated, like people don't seem to realize that sharing a passion doesn't equate with maintaining a relationship (whether platonic or romantic). Even though Jaejoong and Junsu did talk about music a lot in their Couple Talk, I feel like the fans have just taken that little piece and focused on it way too much.
JaeSu is actually, and perhaps ironically, very quiet in the sense that they leave a lot of things unspoken. Both of them are very private people even though their public personas radiate such warmth, openness, and general friendliness. Junsu is the type to not really like to talk about his feelings, and even though Jaejoong is seemingly more than willing to listen, there isn't a daily, "let's bond over a beer and talk about our lives" time. Jaejoong and Junsu are kind of fascinated with each other because although they are alike, they approach things really differently, and each of them likes to watch how the other does things. An easy example is each of their relationships with Yoochun, because though it's obvious both are really close to Yoochun, their relationships with the resident crybaby differ greatly.
Over the years the relationship between Jaejoong and Junsu has grown in their own little way, slowly and quietly. Junsu's always just mentioned Jaejoong's cooking and his 'nurturing skills'. And truthfully, recently, that hasn't really changed much. But Jaejoong has definitely has had more to say about Junsu. And I think even that reveals a closer, growing relationship between the two. We all know how Jaejoong can't exactly keep quiet about his members.
More on Junsu's POV though: I don't think the kid is dumb; I think he's very guarded. Junsu wants to invest in something that he has faith in, something that he can count on and I think over time, he's found that in Jaejoong, the guy who is best friends with everyone without being a bad friend to anyone. He trusts that he'll always be important to Jaejoong, and that Jaejoong will be there when he really needs him, if he really needs him.
Jaejoong needs a designated driver. And Junsu is sexy when he drives.
Attempting to not sound like a crazy fangirl
Jaejoong and Junsu are both romantics, okay? Okay, Jaejoong is kind of bursting with love, the guy probably shits pink hearts and Junsu's just like a bottled up love and Jaejoong is the kid that is like 'WHAT'S IN HERE, COOKIES?!' And when Jaejoong sees inside Junsu he thinks Junsu is shiny and wants to keep him forever and that Junsu is precious and even better than cookies. Even better than better, Junsu is independent, and Junsu may not exactly need him, but he chose him and still chooses him and will always choose him. And Junsu, the mush in him is just brought out by an excited, jumpy, mushy Jaejoong. And he might try to be stubborn but he's the one that'll still whisper nice things to Jaejoong right before he falls asleep and first thing in the morning when they wake up.
AND THEY BOTH HAVE HUGE HEADS, okay! :D
